These are just some of my thoughts about Caesar and the cute things he used to do. I wanted to make a page just for that, because he had some of the most adorable little ways about him. Here are some memories I have of Caesar:
Whenever I was crying, he would always come running to wherever I was, jump up on the bed - or desk or table - get his face as close to my face as he could.... and meow at me. He'd even start meowing, as he was running to wherever I was. He'd also, if possible, put his nose on my nose and purr. :o) awww......
Another thing he used to do was "flop down" - that's what I called it. He'd be standing up, and just fall over sideways. It was so cute! Then, of course, I was supposed to reach down and pat him. :o) A lot of the time, "flopping down" included him turning completely over on his back, and having his head upside down, too..... lol That was my cue to tell him how cute he was....
Another thing he used to love to do - this is crazy - but whenever I'd go to the bathroom, he would come in there, too. First, he wanted to be patted. Then, I was supposed to pick him up, and hold him like a baby, on his back, and scratch his chin .... lol
He loved to play "chase" when he was a kitten and young cat. I'd say, "I'm gonna GETCHA! You better run!" And then he'd take off! I'd chase him down the hall, and back again. He LOVED to play chase!
Another thing he loved to do was chase a feather on a stick. He could turn somersaults in the air, chasing that thing! And he would hardly ever stop, even though he'd be out of breath - I could see his sides moving, he was so out of breath! But he just wouldn't quit. I'd finally have to put it away where he couldn't see it, or he would just keep on and on, and wear himself out.
When he was a kitten, and young cat, he used to tip over any glass full of water, tea, whatever - just to watch the liquid run out.... I had to be careful and not leave a glass of water or tea just sitting on a table or beside my chair. If he saw it, he'd come running to wherever it was, and tip it over. Then he'd just stand there, fascinated, watching the liquid run all over the floor. Crazy cat!
I had to keep his water dish in the kitchen sink - same reason - he would deliberately tip the water dish over, to watch the water run out.....
He LOVED water.... and whenever I took a bath, he would sit on the edge of the tub - put one of his front paws down as far into the water as he could; almost up to his shoulder! He also loved to hit or bat at the water with his paw and watch it splash.... it was hysterical....
When he was younger, I taught him how to drink out of the sink, with the water barely running. He quit doing it after I got Chicklet, because she started doing it -- and every time I'd turn on the water for him, she'd come barreling in and shove him out of the way! lol So he kinda quit that over the past several years. But he used to love to drink water out of the faucet - and also just play with the water in the sink.
Also, any time there was a dish in the sink with water in it, he would jump up on the sink and bat at the water; then he would shake his paw and water would go everywhere!
He LOVED Kleenexes and would chew them up at every oppportunity. I'd catch him, many times, pulling a Kleenex out of the box to chew on it. I ended up having to put the Kleenex box in the drawer of my nightstand, rather than out anywhere where he could get it; otherwise, I'd have no Kleenexes left!
Along those lines, any paper I left laying out, including magazines, he would chew the corners off. He loved to bite and chew on paper, for some reason. My cat really DID like to "eat the homework." lol
Another funny thing about Caesar was that he would "whine" at me at certain times - any time I'd been gone too long (according to his thinking), or if I wasn't paying "enough" attention to him (again, according to his thinking). Sometimes, if I scolded him for nabbing a Kleenex to chew on, or getting into something he shouldn't, he would "whine" - almost like he was "talking back" to me. I'd reprimand him, saying, "CEE!" Well, I must have said that so much that now, even to this day, when my Quaker parrot, Skyler, hears a cat meow, she will say, "CEE!" hahaha...
Hope you enjoyed my memories of Caesar.... he was a great cat! And he will be truly missed!
